The three states of material existence—goodness, passion, and ignorance—are manifested by my energy. They are in me, but I am beyond them.
SBG 7-12
In the universe there will never be a time when everything will be going smoothly. In the nature of things there will always be agitation, for the universe’s creation itself is a product of agitation. There will be imbalance all the time, but for the individual there is a way to escape from this agitated state of the universe.
Having gone deep into the state of meditation, you come to a state of equilibrium where the laws of nature do not contaminate you. They simply cannot touch you. That is the only moment of equilibrium available in waking consciousness. At all other times there will always be disturbances in the universe which will affect us. We ought to learn to face them with detachment so that their misery, ecstasy or pleasure do not bind us.
Even while causing all this creation, the Creator does nothing at all. Understanding this sheds all the burden from the mind, just as waking up from sleep removes all the tensions of a fearsome dream. To pacify a troubled mind, nothing could be more effective and refreshing than to regard everything as part of a show staged by the Creator. Weep if you must, or laugh if you must - the underlying thought should be there.
The past is never the same again. Stop worrying about it; stay cheerful for cheerfulness is your real state. The clothes you are wearing will eventually wear-out. The smoothness of your skin will turn into wrinkles. Your body will lapse into the tides of Time. Take all that in your stride, and fearlessly play the role assigned to you.
